Typical Fees for Web Design Services
Type of
Assignment
I charge PER
PROJECT wherever possible, however, the accuracy depends
in large part on how "together" you are with text and
image preparedness, etc. Some
things, such as custom sites, may be impossible to
predict. However, I do provide frequent updates
throughout the web creation process.
We can discuss a working budget and then if we get too
close to the edge we'll make some compromises to get it
done as close to budget as possible. The best way to
stay on budget is to be crystal clear in what you want and
not piddle your budgeted hours away with endless miniscule
changes. |
My Fee
Please note
fees are subject to change at any time. |
Custom Web
Design
You pick the colors, explain
the general layout, etc. This is what you'd choose if you
did see any sample sites you liked or if you had a business logo
you wanted to build the site around.
It pays to be 100% ready to go with your text, images you want
to use, item descriptions, prices, etc. If you're
half-assed ready and have to change stuff later, it eats up
minutes. Minutes cost money and can put you over budget. |

Simple
Graphic Design
What I can't do myself, I farm
out to two other graphic designers. Between the 3 of us,
we should be able to come up with something you like. |

Shopping Cart
This is not a fee for the
shopping cart itself, but for setting up whatever shopping cart
you choose and populating it with your items, images, prices,
and product descriptions.
I recommend PayPal's shopping
cart because it's free and popular enough that buyers trust it.
Read the information at PayPal about the costs associated with
use. It's nominal and taken out of orders - in other
words, there is no monthly cost for it. You only pay it if
you make a sale and the cost is small. |

Pre-Designed
Web Page (from Sample Pages)
Basic page set up prepped for
dropping in text, etc. It pays to be 100% ready to go with
your text, images you want to use, item descriptions, prices,
etc. If you're half-assed ready and have to change stuff
later, it eats up minutes. Minutes cost money and can put
you over budget. |
$125 per page
If standard per page time allotment is
exceeded, additional hours are billed at the hourly rate
(rounded to nearest quarter hour). |
Instruction
Learn to maintain your site
while I build it. You can choose MS Front Page, NVU, or
Dreamweaver. If you haven't done any web design before, I
recommend Front Page or NVU. |
